With a rich desire to watch sprint car racing's top spectacle, Adam Lawrence and his wife Kelsey happen to be on a vacation taking in a racing event in the middle of nowhere Iowa. This nowhere town was Knoxville, IA and the they were hosting the super bowl of racing for 4 days known as the Knoxville Nationals. Adam organically noticed a vendor there by the name of Burromax and just happen to stop in and see what they were all about. It was at that time that him and his wife realized that these cool dirt bikes could potentially be a replacement for their recently sold Yamaha TTR bike and decided to test one out and ended up leaving that day with one of their own. After using it all week to get around town, letting friends try it out and realizing how much everyone enjoyed this bike they couldn't help but think about how useful this bike could be in other demographics other than racing.
They realized that these bikes would also serve a great purpose in their daily life where they currently had two businesses, where one is a high end equestrian show stable called Pembroke Pointe and the other is a mobile store called Hunters Landing Tack & Supply. They decided that they wanted to go back and see if there was any way to be a retailer of these bikes for Burromax. After a great conversation with owner Bill Francis, Adam and Kelsey were now setup with an opening order and a partnership to take these awesome bikes to their demographic of the world.
After receiving their inventory and testing the bikes out at local horse shows, Adam quickly realized that these bikes were exceeding his expectations after he sold out 3 times in 3 shows of debuting the Burromax brand. After considering the brand, the capabilities and coming up with a plan to be a vendor at multiple disciplines of recreational activities, Adam decided the best idea would be to make a name that would be unique but not specific to any industry or demographic. This is how the name TORQ was born and this is where it took on a life of it's own. The vision for TORQ is to be the leading retailer of Burromax bikes on the east coast. TORQ is also developing purpose-built bikes to offer to customers if they want something more than a stock model. The future looks bright for TORQ and we can't wait for our customers to see it all in action.
